With more than 10 years of criminal defense experience Brock Hunter has handled thousands of cases ranging from 1st Degree Murder to DWI. He has been named a “Rising Star” in the area of criminal defense by Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine from 2006 through 2009.
Brock currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MACDL) and, as their Legislative Chair, leads efforts for criminal justice reform at the Minnesota Legislature.

Brock is also a veteran who served as a Recon Scout in the U.S. Army. He now devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing psychologically-injured Iraq and Afghan war veterans who find themselves in the criminal justice system. Brock has handled a number of high-profile veteran cases, including a homicide case profiled in the New York Times. In 2008, Brock drafted and lead passage of pioneering Minnesota legislation that encourages treatment over incarceration of veterans whose psychological injuries played a role in their criminal offense. Brock regularly speaks across the country on the issue of combat veterans in the criminal courts, educating legal professionals, law makers and military members on how we, as a nation, can avoid mistakes made with past generations of veterans and truly “Support Our Troops.”

To recharge his batteries between cases Brock enjoys outdoor adventure sports, particularly exploring Lake Superior’s remote wilderness islands via sea kayak. In 1999, Brock, along with four other kayakers, completed an 88-mile unsupported sea kayak crossing of Lake Superior to draw attention to the Lake’s imperiled health.
